The Canary Islands are served by several airports, but the Tenerife North International Airport (IATA Code: TFN) is one of the most popular in terms of passenger traffic. The airport is also known as the Los Rodeos Airport, located on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, the largest of the seven islands. The airport is one of two international airports located on the island. The other is Tenerife South, more properly known as Reina Sofia Airport (IATA Code: TFS) built in the late 1970s. Tenerife North is equipped with one runway and terminal and handles approximately four million passengers a year. Brief History
Tenerife North Airport has operated from the field at Los Rodeos since the 1930s, when the airport served as a major link between the islands and Spain. The airport grew and by the 1960s several new runways, a passenger terminal, and hangers had been constructed. Today the airport serves over 100 airlines and nearly two dozen flight routes mostly to Spanish and Western European destinations.

Facilities at Tenerife North Airport provide a variety of duty-free and traditional shopping options as well as numerous cafeterias and restaurant options. Passengers can enjoy coffee and pastries at Cafeteria Careca or a variety of snacks at Dorado. Several duty-free shops and Relay shops offer newspapers, magazines, books, and small inventories. The airport terminal also offers the Nivaria VIP Lounges located in passenger only zones on the departures mezzanine for Schengen and non-Schengen flights. Additional passenger services at the airport include banking options, ATMs, access to Wi-Fi services and a small business center.

Car rental services at Tenerife North Airport include five well-known domestic and international carriers. Car rental desks are located on Floor 0 of the passenger terminal.
